This is one of the larger hoppers I have seen. It measures about 5/16" long.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Ric 7 weeks into the rainy season. shot taken at night next to a street lamp.

Cercopidae, Spittlebugs. Sorry, I have no electronic reference. It is also called Tomaspis simulans or Sphenorhina sumilans.
