Blessed leaf beetle

Paropsisterna beata (rubrosignata)

Description:

Introducing the blushing twin of Paropsisterna beata with its six vibrant spots and bright red trim http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/102... Spotted by the keen eyes of Christiane, there is only one image online that I am aware of. Beata translates from latin to 'blassed' and occurs in every mainland state of Australia

Notes:

The species Paropsisterna rubrosignata does not exist as a valid taxon in ALA http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:b... I believe it s incorporated into the similar P. beata from this reference http://collections.museumvictoria.com.au... PaDIL once considered it as its own species file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/User/My%20Documents/1A%20Katie/PaDIL-Eucalyptleafbeetles-Paropsisterna.pdf This beetle was found by Christiane in Queensland and sent to me for research purposes. Thank you CG.
