Lion's Mane Jellyfish

Cyanea ferruginea

Description:

Though the size, shape, and color are quite distinctive, it barely had any of the long tentacles this species is known for. I usually see this species with tons of hair-like tentacles.

Habitat:

In a harbor close to town where private, charter, and commercial fishing boats dock. It is protected by jetties, so I imagine it would take a long time for it to get out of the harbor again, if at all.
