A small ground-dwelling bird that is usually seen in flocks. They are a roundish bird with a rich gray breast, intricately scaled underparts, and a forward-drooping head plume.
Spotted at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Extensive wetlands, marsh, and prairie habitats.
