Marine Blue Butterfly

Description:

Wingspan .25 to 1 inch. Caterpillars present in spring when mesquites are blooming, with adults soon to follow. Some references I have searched show a different butterfly type to the above...but most identify the above as Marine Blue.

Habitat:

This species' photo was taken at Spring Mountain Ranch in Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. The ranch is a state park, with riparian sections in an area transitioning between desert, and mountain foothills.
