Striped Lynx Spider, female

Oxyopes salticus

Description:

Small spider, female larger than male, sexually dimorphic (males and females look different). These spiders do not spin webs, but hunt their food instead. See my spotting of the male of this species: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/113...

Habitat:

Suburban backyard garden.

Notes:

I spotted at least five of these girls in various places around the yard in the garden but they were very camera shy!
