Zenaida macroura
It was about a half a foot long and its feathers make a whistling sound when landing an taking off.
We found it in its nest in a Bradford pear tree.
It was nesting two eggs.

The eggs have hatched and grown. They come to our bird feeders and we see them every now and then but they fly away whenever anyone gets to close to our window.
Thanks SarahWhitt and dcslaugh. I got to about 6 inches away from it with my camera and it still didn't fly off.
Beautiful series!! ;)
Very nice closeups!
