Description:

Common birds in ponds, lakes and marshes throught Europe, many times well adapted to suburban life. They feeds in shallow water, catching fish, frogs, and insects with its long bill. Herons will also take small mammals and reptiles. In La Albuefra they probably catch eels, which are common in the waters of the lake.
