Chen caerulescens
A large white goose with black wing tips. The juveniles are slightly smaller and have a gray shading. There is a "blue morph" variant. The body is dark and the head white. The bills have a dark line called a "grinning patch" or "black lips."
A small flock on the planted fields at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge provides 300 acres of planted winter wheat to feed the geese in the winter.
