small longicorn beetle

Description:

This small longicorn beetle was about 10 mm long (excl antennae). The body was a mottled grey and pale yellow. Legs had thick femurs. Antennae ( ? 11 segments) was banded, the white parts being dense setae. The head and jaw was down-pointing.

Habitat:

Spotted resting on an agapanthes plant.

Notes:

This longicorn beetle belongs to the Subfamily: Lamiinae which include cerambycids with down-pointing jaws. Will need to look for information on this beetle. My thanks to martinl for the genus ID.

There are several simlar species to this one. Always on acacia.
