Ipomoea pes-caprae

Description:

Purplish viney stems can spread for as much as 60 feet or more across bare sand, rooting at the stem nodes. Flowers are single or few-clustered, rose-purple, tubular, morning glory type, spreading to 3 in. across.

Habitat:

Sandy beach.

Notes:

They are excellent shore stabilizers.
