Description:

Medium sized golden yellow mushrooms; caps almost flat slightly domed, darker towards centre, margins sometimes wavy; stipe relatively slender, pale yellow near top and darker towards base, obvious frill; gills yellow, uncrowded.

Habitat:

Large clusters on dead and rotting timber in very tall and wet eucalyptus rain forest.

Notes:

The most pathogenic and widespread of the six Armillaria species found in Australia. Sometimes called Australian Honey fungus. This has also been collected in Argentina and Chile.
