Description:

Cultivated tree to 25 ft., originally from Tropical America. Large, palmately 7 lobed leaves, lobes pinnately cut are attached in a spiral. Fruits are produced close to the trunk among the leaves.

Notes:

Papayas are a major crop tracing to pre Columbian cultivation by Central American Indians.
