Cicada Killer Wasp

Sphecius speciosus

Description:

These things are HUGE! I cannot believe they are a wasp, not a hornet. This one sits here at this crack in the early morning and late evening. Two others comes by occasionally and they all fly off.

Notes:

I don't want to kill these, but they have started coming after me when I walk to my car in the morning. Lol. Does anyone know any safe ways to repel them? I have no idea why they are hanging out there; they never go into the cracks. ~~~ Wanted to add, I went out my front door one morning (I always use the back) and found the swarm in my yard! They were living along the side of the sidewalk, very scary!
