A Lepidoptera butterfly preferring woodlands and adults feeding on tree sap. 62-75 mm (2.44 - 3 inches) wingspan. Very Dark red with off-white "fringe" with bright blue spots. Host trees: Mostly willow

Habitat:

Woodlands near willows (Beltzville State Park, PA)
