Helix pomatia
This snail was around 5 cm. in size. The shell was creamy white. These snails are edible and common in Europe.
In south-eastern Europe Helix pomatia lives in forests and open habitats, gardens, vineyards, especially along rivers, confined to calcareous substrate.

Thanks for sharing this wonderfull species. Spotted this huge snail in 'The Ardennes' last week on vacation.
