White-Tailed Deer

Odocoileus virginianus

Habitat:

Spotted in a thick, brushy forest by a large stream. Had to use a telephoto zoom lens (300mm) as I was quite a distance away. It stopped, looked at me for 2 seconds, and then dashed off.

Did you know that Deers bark like a dog? They can also kick very hard. I have heard of instances when dogs have been hurt very badly. Always advisable to keep dogs away.
