Black-shouldered Spinyleg

Dromogomphus spinosus

Description:

They are widespread in the eastern United States, especially in forested areas along streams and rivers, where it may perch and forage in deep shade. Like the other two species of spiny-legs, it has a relatively small head and long legs, but despite the name the spines on its legs are hard to see. (per Kenn Kaufman)
