Spizella passerina
A very common bird across North America. The Chipping Sparrow is between 5 - 5 1/2".
Lives in open woodlands, forests, especially those with grasslands nearby. Ground feeders.
Chipping sparrows frequent my feeder area, and often sing happily in the trees nearby. This parent bird is feeding it's young. I'm always amused that the young are as big as the parents.
