The Eastern pondhawk, also known as the common pondhawk, is a dragonfly of the family Libellulidae, native to the eastern two-thirds of the United States and southern Ontario, Canada. The species is distinguished in that the female is bright green and the adult male has a blue abdomen with a green face and green and blue thorax. (information from Wikipedia)

The temperature was around 95 degrees while I was out shooting, yet I totally blocked it out while stalking this dragonfly. I remained patient and allowed her to return to her perch repeatedly while I stayed back a bit. She rewarded me with some great posing.
