Description:

Plant has branched stem with many-headed, flat-topped corymbs. Flower. Rays yellow, 5-toothed; appear to need heat to open completely. Basal rosette of leaves with prominent, maroon-purple veins; smooth surface with hairy margins.

Habitat:

Growing in bare soil on east-facing slope above a lake.
