Spotting

Description:

I was excited to find a cocoon until i checked the other side and found the hole with the eggs? Could they be parasitic wasp eggs? Or what created the hole in the side of the cocoon?

Habitat:

Found on a tree branch on the outer edges of a field.

Notes:

My 500th spotting.

Thanks Jemma and Antonio! I have a feeling it is similar to this spotting I did back in July http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/313... with a chrysalis not a cocoon like in this case.

Very cool capture LuckyLogan, congrats on your 500 spotting and thanks for sharing such an interesting spotting page
