But keep in mind they are hard to identify to species level by sight alone...

I think this is 7905 – Datana major – Major Datana Moth – Grote & Robinson, 1866

It certainly does look like a burrito as its name indicates. Nice work spotting this one!

No problem! Yeah, they are pretty cool moths. In my opinion there is a way to differentiate the species, but I don't want to be giving you false information.

Hello! Cool spot! It is almost impossible to distinguish species of Datana without seeing the caterpillar. I call them burrito moths for their unique appearance. Enjoy!
