Australian Wood Duck

Description:

450-500mm duck that lives and grazes in small flocks. Male is grey with dark brown head and mottled breast region. Female has white stripes above and below the eye, with a mottled lower body and breast region. Both have grey wings with black primaries and white speculum.

Habitat:

The Australian Wood Duck can be found throughout Australia - grasslands, woodlands, wetlands, farmyards, coastal areas and in many urban settings near water.
