Polyphemus Moth

Antheraea polyphemus

Description:

This beauty joined us at our campsite one evening. It is one of the biggest moths I have ever seen in person. They can have a wingspan of up to 6 inches! These are silk moths and can be found here in Oregon during the summer months.
