Dog Vomit Slime Mold

Fuligo septica

Description:

Looks like some type of fungus to me but I was told by someone at the park that this was rattlesnake droppings. It was spotted under some evergreen - possibly juniper - bushes.

Lol! Funny name! There was bark mulch under the evergreen where it was spotted and it matches the descriptions of dog vomit slime mold much more so than rattlesnake poop. Thanks for the suggestion!
