Description:

Males in eastern half of range have black above, yellow below, and a whitish patch on the wings. Western range have a black cap, green back, yellow belly, and white patch on wings.

Habitat:

Open woods near Belton Lake. They were all over the sunflowers getting seed.

Notes:

These photos were taken through a window so are not as crisp as they might be otherwise.
