Passer domesticus
These birds are so common in Spain that are often overlooked, if not even neglected sometimes. In spite of this, it does not cease to marvel me their admirable ability to adapt to all kinds of environments. They are little sturdy and very smart birds that can feed and survive in cities as well as in fields. They are very social birds. Gregarious at all seasons when feeding, often forming flocks with other types of bird. They roost communally, and their nests are usually grouped together in clumps. One of their social activities -fun to watch at!- is their dust and water bathing! They also engage in "social singing", in which many birds call together while hidden in bushes.
