White-tailed Deer

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

Tall, light brown, and long legged the White-tailed deer is most easily distinguishable by the white underside of its tail which it raises to alert other deer around of danger.

Habitat:

Found basically anywhere from southern Canada to southern Mexico.

Notes:

Saw these two walking (around seven thirty) down our dead end street while I got rest to leave for work. At that time we'd had a heavy snow storm Thursday into Friday and the temperature was bouncing from negative five to zero. I figured they didn't want to walk in the snow.
