Myadestes melanops
Edemic to the highlands of Costa Rica and Western Panama, the Black-Faced Solitaire generally builds a cup nest in a tree crevice, as seen above. The black face and chin contrast sharply with the orange bill, making it easy to identify. The song is a beautiful flute-like whistle that echoes through the forest, making it prized in the caged bird trade.
