Thanks, annorion - I was thinking about a type of Nightshade right from the start...I think this is it. It's indeed native to the USA but became invasivley common here, too, just as you said.

I think this maybe Solanum carolinense. Although it is native to U.S. I've read in some parts of Europe it has been introduced by the import of grains. http://scienceindex.com/stories/930273/P....
