Mycena sp
12mm acros the cap, 30mm tall
In parkland woodchip mulch... 80% sunlight, mid winter, after solid rain for a week.
Mycena sub vulgaris = Fuhrer (2005) ?
Mycena subvulgaris is extremely close - only problem is slightly insufficient decurrence....
Thanks ladies!! I'll get around to IDing it soon... (I know I've seen it somewhere but there's uploading to do :)
They resemble pinwheel mushrooms (marasmius), but I don't know if any get that dark in color. Superb photo.
Nice find, Argy! It looks kind of like a pleated inkcap, except darker and without the brown "eye spot" on the top. Very cool, I hope someone with more fungi knowledge can help you on the ID!
very nice !
