Platterful Mushroom??

Description:

Tall big mushroom. Cap looks just like the Platterful Mushroom (Tricholomopsis platyphylla) in that it is light grey-brownish with streaks of dark fibers. Gills have a slight pinkish hue, white stem.

Habitat:

On forest floor near log, growing through leaf litter.

good idea to always carry note cards & wax paper along to make a spore print on the spot - the print might even be "readable" by the time you get home. Pink tinged gills suggest a pink spore print, like a light capped Pluteus cervinus
