The empty pupal casing is called a chrysalis and the coming out of the insect is called emergence. This is not a cocoon neither did it hatched. In this case, the egg hatched into a caterpillar which later turned into pupa (chrysalis) and a butterfly emerged from it.
It's a cocoon that hatched...
