Description:

Shrub about 3-15 feet tall. Fleshy purple drupes in dense clusters along branches.

Notes:

Usually the berries don't turn purple until fall. These are really early in July. Songbirds and small mammals eat The berries.

This year there seems to be a lot of plants with their timing off. I've had any number blooming at odd times.

Awesome Joan! I guess they probably are turning purple early due to the early seasons we have had this year, coupled with the heat and lack of rain you all have had up there. I have not found any that have turned down here yet.
