Eudryas grata
No one wants to eat bird poop, right?! That is the science behind Eudryas grata's mimicry. It pretends to be bird poop, resting with its wings folded in quite a convincing fashion.
Larvae feed on leaves of several shrubs, vines: Ampelopsis, Buttonbush, grape, hops, Virginia Creeper. It is disputed whether or not the imago feeds.
Thanks to my mother for pointing this guy out, and helping with shot 3!
