Crumbly organic material cementing a dry leaf to a green one...the space inside appears to serve as a resting place for an ant.
I shook the Kamini plant (Murraya paniculata) wishing to let the dry leaves fall so that those could be swept away...not realizing this was a nest I gave the obstinately clinging dry leaf an extra hard shake...anyway what is done is done. The ant that was inside the nest is in the last shot.
