Each of these orchid plants has two deeply-veined leaves at its base, from which a single flower stem emerges, topped by a spectacular pink slipper (or moccasin) shaped flower.

Habitat:

Forested bog area

Notes:

The pink lady’s slipper, also commonly called a moccasin flower, is a native wildflower with a unique shape that can be found in wooded areas around North America.
