Ornithoptera euphorion
The Cairns Birdwing (Ornithoptera euphorion) is a species of birdwing butterfly endemic to northeastern Australia, and is Australia's largest endemic butterfly species. Other common names include Cooktown Birdwing and Northern Birdwing. The name Cairns in its common name is a reference to the Queensland, Australia city in the region where this butterfly is found.
This series of butterflies were spotted at a Butterfly Pavilion in Denver, Colorado, USA.
this butterfly had the most amazing green colour on the upper wings, but it never gave a chance to take a photo, closings it's wings the moment it landed.
A nice poem by Rebecca Woodhead to accompany a garden full of butteflies =)

yes it is... sometimes there are many different ones flying round everywhere you look. I spend a lot of time just standing in the garden watching, with my camera!
thanks patty.... unfortunately all these last butterflies I posted were seen in a Butterfly Park, but the earlier ones I posted were from my garden in India!
Beautiful butterfly and picture Pamsai! Your garden must be beautiful if it is full of all these butterlies; lovely spottings =)
