Solitary wasp

Psenini (tribe)

Description:

About 6-7 millimeters in body length, colored as shown. Note long petiole linking thorax and abdomen.

Habitat:

Found in a sunny spot in the Colorado Springs Horticultural Society demonstration garden. Many ornamental plants there, but native habitat is a riparian corridor with elm trees, cottonwood, grasses. This was a briar patch as I recall.

Notes:

This might be the genus Psenulus, but I am reluctant to be conclusive based on this one image alone.
