Actitis macularius
This sandpiper was seen jumping and bobbing around the rocks along the shore at Central Landing at high tide. Sandy brown color with a bill about the length of his head and a white eyestripe. He was totally white underneath. The distinguishing feature for this adult was the white wedge on the breast.
Breeds along North America lakes, pebbly lake and pond shores, streamsides and in the winter the seashore.
