Startled this heron as I went around a bend. It squawked in protest as it flew away. It landed on the other side of the shore to resume fishing.
A riparian wildlife area along the edge of Lake Lewisville. This was spotted on a day hike along the edge of the lake traveling south and west. More that 270 bird species can be found throughout the year.
