Spinus pinus
The Pine siskin is a small brown bird in the finch family. Pale underneath with dark streaks. The seeds of the red alder, which are found in the small cones are high on their menu in the autumn.
Spotted foraging in a large red alder tree at Skagit Wildlife Area-Wiley Slough.
