Great Egret, Snowy Egrets and American Coot (fishing)

Description:

Great Egret, Ardea alba, is the largest of the white birds. It has all black legs and feet. The smaller white birds are Snowy Egrets, Egretta thula. They have black legs and yellow feet. The American Coot, Fulica americana, is the dark bird with a white bill

Habitat:

A riparian wildlife area along the edge of Lake Lewisville. This was spotted on a short hike along the edge of the lake traveling north to the tip of the peninsula. More that 270 bird species can be found throughout the year.

Notes:

There is a shallow sand bar that is a favorite fishing spot for these birds.
