Family: Araneidae (orb weaver spiders) Male and female spiders (female 1.25 inches long, 3.2 cm) Another male is waiting just a few inches away (see 3rd photo) Female is colorful black, brown, yellow with red like "rose" on abdomen. Males are plain tan/red and significantly smaller in size.
