Description:

Family: Nymphalidae, Sub-family: Danainae. A milk weed butterfly. 8-9-10.2 cm (3.5 - 4 inches) wingspan. Male (See black spot showing thru thick middle vein) Orange, white and black.

Habitat:

Found feeding at the edge of the road and attached to a large farmer's field near my house.

Thanks Carol for mentioning subfamily name Danainae. In India we find such Stripped and Plain Tiger butterflies and Crows and Blue Tiger butterflies.
