Sympetrum vicinum
A small red, gold and black Dragonfly with pink-shot eyes
This is defiantly a Autumn, 1st Cardinal is a western species and 2nd Autumn is the latest flying meadowhawk in North America.
LoisStacey-Argh! Could be that too. Not savvy enough to figure out which one myself though...Here's the link I found for comparison to the other possibilities http://bugguide.net/node/view/3776
Check Autumn I think it is, it used to be Yellow-legged. I don't know the northern bugs well but I think those yellow legs may be distinctive.
Team Brinez 2-I'm not a dragonfly expert so haven't a clue. I do think Meadowhawk but not sure: Cherry-faced, Cardinal, etc...and don't really know (other than body/wing color) what I'm looking for. Here's a link to show you what I mean: http://bugguide.net/node/view/522/bgpage... Thank you!!
