Fruit Piercing Moth

Eudocima phalonia ♀

Description:

Erebidae; Calpinae; Ophiderini; Eudocima phalonia (Linnaeus, 1763). According to Philippine Lepidoptera, this moth is a female.

Habitat:

Spotted on the metal grill of my dog kennel while feeding my dogs. This is, obviously not the natural environment for a Fruit Piercing Moth. So, I should point out that the area where I live is agricultural and we are completely surrounded by farmland, interspersed with small patches of forest.
