I didn't know that Egrets ate Gophers! Before they swallowed them, they shook the gophers bodies roughly, intent on braking all the bones so that it goes down easier. If you notice, the beak of the Egret is already bloodied from stabbing the gopher. This is how I deduced the reasoning of the bone braking. This was really a nice discovery :)

Nikon D100 with 300mm lens. it's a slightly older model. you want D90 at the very least if you prefer Nikon.
I didn't know they ate gophers either! That was a neat find and entertaining to observe. Good work :)
