Habitat:

My backyard - faculty housing on the campus of Pacific Adventist University near Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Notes:

Masked Lapwing Vanellus miles miles. This is the resident subspecies in Papua New Guinea. The vagrant subspecies Vanellus miles novaehollandiae is native to Australia and has black shoulders and a bigger black cap.
